The Institute has organized numerous international and domestic conferences.
It hosted the XV Rochester Conference on High-Energy Physics in 1970, International Workshops on Nonlinear and Turbulent Processes in Physics in 1979, 1983, 1987, and 1989, International Conference on Quantum Chemistry, Biology, and Pharmacology in 1977, Soviet-American Symposium on Soliton Theory in 1979, Soviet-Italian Symposium on Selected Problems of Statistical Physics in 1984, International Conference on Physics of Liquids in Small Volumes in 1990. Since 1992 the Institute has held regular conferences on hadron physics and new trends in high-energy physics.
The International Conference Physics in Ukraine, held in 1993, has been of great integrating importance for the physicists of independent Ukraine. The Kiev-Dubna Bogolyubov Conference of 1999 was a notable event for scientists from many countries.
In 2001, the Institute hosted the First International BITP-ITEP School in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics for Schoolchildren and Students, and in 2002 - the Second.
The Institute has brought a particular contribution in the organization of International Conferences on Plasma Theory. These Conferences have been initiated by the Institute and hosted in 1971, 1974, and 1987. Nowadays these Conferences are called Kiev Conferences and, since 1976, bear this name in many countries
